NLGJA - The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists Brand Identity

Brand+Aid did a corporate rebrand for the prestigious 33-year-old organization formerly named NLGJA (National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association) to launch its newly named — and much more inclusive —NLGJA, The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. For the time being, we recommended they use a transitional descriptor line of “NLGJA since 1990.” with a powerful tagline, especially for LGBTQ+ journalists defending the truth in an increasingly homophobic media landscape, “Query everything.” The winning brand-identity was one of over two dozen presented. We purposely kept the old-fashioned pen nib in their old logo but with a much more bold, modern and LGBTQ+ friendly magenta treatment.
