People Animals Love (PAL) is a Washington-based pet-therapy organization devoted to bringing animals together with people in need. Research proves time and again that human-animal interaction creates a powerful bond that can heal: To cheer up a wounded soldier in a military hospital suffering from depression. To coax out a withdrawn senior citizen forgotten in an assisted-living facility. Or to teach firsthand an inner-city youth a sense of compassion and empathy. PAL’s carefully trained volunteers and their fully certified (and colorfully uniformed) pets make weekly visitation rounds that are both curative and therapeutic to those less fortunate. The campaign was comprised of ads, posters, emails and a fundraising brochure that was both mailed and distributed at veterinarians and pet stores.
