St. Coletta Adult Programs
St. Coletta also serves adults with severe disabilities. In addition to their school for children and teens with disabilities in Southeast DC, St. Coletta is doing work with adults that’s as important as it is magical: Participants ages 18 and older achieve greater independence through vocational learning, employment/supported-employment training, life skills development, and integration into their communities. These real-world, hands-on activities include jewelry making, sewing & weaving, pottery, glass craftwork, computer skills, gardening, grocery shopping, food prep & meal planning, self care, using public transportation, and more. They even have an online store, Coletta Collections, featuring breathtaking products “Handcrafted by Artisans with Disabilities.” Click images to play.
